The WRC rejected a complainant’s claim that a bakery refused to make a cake with a message because of his religious beliefs. The decision was dated 10 July 2017.
The bakery said its bespoke order book was full and offered to make the cake base while the customer arranged for an edible topper elsewhere. The adjudicator found no evidence that the order was refused because the complainant was Christian, and the complaint failed.
