The WRC recommended that a cleaning operative at a services company be told about the next suitable Monday-to-Friday vacancy in its manufacturing cleaning section and be permitted to transfer permanently into it. The recommendation was dated 11 May 2017. The worker had sought a transfer and higher pay after moving to another site for specialist-cleaning experience. The WRC found no contractual entitlement to the higher rate from August 2014 and no merit in his lost-earnings claim. It also recommended that his personnel file accurately reflect his role and that the company consider a transfer policy.
