The WRC awarded a former barber €2,043.33 for accrued annual leave after finding several employment complaints well founded. In a decision dated 15 June 2017, it also awarded €500 for working-time breaches, €300 for minimum notice, and €60 for working Easter Monday. The barber said he had not received written terms or written notice when his weekly hours fell from 47.5 to 18. The WRC found breaches concerning both written terms and notice of the hours change, awarding €500 for each. It also awarded €300 for one week's minimum notice and €2,043.33 for accrued leave, along with €60 for the public holiday. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The WRC did not recommend in favour of the barber's unfair dismissal dispute, finding the shop had ceased trading and his position was redundant. The decision lists a further working-time complaint, CA-00004834-009, but gives no separate outcome for it.
