The WRC rejected an employee’s complaint that an electronics manufacturer discriminated against her on grounds of civil status, in a decision dated 3 January 2017. She said her pay was 20% lower than permanent employees’ after she returned to work as an agency contractor in 2009. The manufacturer argued that she was in substance bringing an agency-worker equal-treatment claim under different legislation. The WRC found her civil-status discrimination complaint misconceived.
