WRC recommends earlier long-service pay point for social worker

By Niamh Kearney

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC recommended that a social worker move to the Long Service Increment after two years rather than three, in full and final settlement of a pay dispute. Adjudication Officer Eugene Hanly dated the recommendation 15 June 2017. The worker said he had performed the full range of senior social work duties for more than three years without extra pay. The health provider said he was not in an acting role and that duties were shared among staff. The adjudication officer noted the conflicting positions before making the recommendation.
