A production operative received €450 in compensation after the WRC upheld some complaints about public holiday pay and written employment terms against a manufacturing company. The decision was dated 11 January 2017. The operative said he had not received a personalised statement of his employment terms. The company said his engagement letter referred to a collective agreement negotiated with SIPTU and available to staff. The officer upheld complaints about information on average hourly pay, a company-name change, and daily and weekly rest periods. Several other written-terms complaints were not well founded, including claims about breaks, leave and notice information. The road-transport complaint failed because the operative was not a mobile worker when he brought it or when his employment ended. His annual-leave and minimum-notice complaints were also not well founded. The company admitted that public-holiday payments were outstanding and paid them before the decision. The officer awarded €250 for three public-holiday complaints and €200 for another, while several written-terms breaches attracted no compensation because the officer considered them minor.
