The Workplace Relations Commission found a door and window fitter entitled to a redundancy lump sum after a layoff, in a decision dated 4 October 2016. The entitlement was based on his employment dates, weekly salary of €585 gross and termination date. He said he was laid off from 11 January 2016 because of a shortage of work and submitted an RP9 form after more than four weeks without work and no guaranteed return date. Glazing Contractor did not attend the hearing or make a written submission.
