WRC rejects worker’s five complaints against beauty salon as out of time

By Rory Hanlon

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found that a worker’s five complaints against a beauty and tanning salon were brought outside the time limits and failed. The decision was dated 20 July 2017. The worker said she was selected for dismissal because of her family status and travel distance, and claimed unpaid annual leave and public-holiday pay and missed rest breaks. The salon said she had chosen to leave and accepted that holiday and public-holiday payments had not been made. The WRC found the complaints were out of time; the merits were not decided. It also found the salon had not kept the required working-time records.
