The Workplace Relations Commission found a child care worker’s unfair dismissal complaint against a creche not well founded in a decision dated 14 February 2018. The worker said she was dismissed after raising concerns about staff ratios and a cook switching between cooking and child care duties. The creche said she had gone home after being told she could not take her lunch break at that time and was not dismissed. The adjudication officer considered whether a dismissal had occurred and found that the creche’s later efforts to engage with the worker suggested there had not been one.
