WRC dismisses employee’s claims after he misses hearing

The WRC dismissed an employee’s complaints over wages and written employment terms after he did not attend the hearing. The decision was dated 15 July 2016; the merits were not decided. The employee had claimed pay after his termination and a month’s salary in lieu of notice for work in Trinidad. The respondent argued that the employment was outside Irish jurisdiction and that the complaint was out of time.
