WRC rejects language school claimant’s unpaid wages complaint

By Gráinne Nolan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found a language school claimant’s Payment of Wages complaint not well founded in a decision dated 7 December 2016. The claimant sought unpaid salary, holiday pay and bank-holiday pay. The school said it had paid her in full and provided a timeline and details of payments. The adjudication officer preferred the school’s evidence. After the claimant was unable to explain the amount she believed was owed in detail, she was given two weeks to provide a breakdown and later submitted further information, including payslips and bank-transfer details.
