A hair stylist was awarded €1,000 for missed breaks and €900 for not receiving written employment terms, while her unfair dismissal complaint failed. The Workplace Relations Commission dated its decision 9 June 2017. She withdrew a separate complaint about daily rest periods. The stylist said she did not receive rest breaks and was pressured to work extra hours. The employer said she received breaks and had resigned to join another business. The adjudication officer found the employer could not provide records showing the breaks or a copy of the employment contract. The officer also found the stylist had told the employer she was leaving to join another hairdressing business, so her unfair dismissal complaint failed.
