The WRC found a worker was entitled to redundancy and notice payments from a cleaning company, in a decision dated 26 January 2017. It also found two complaints about whether the change of cleaning contractor transferred the worker’s job were not well-founded. The worker, a general operative, said he was dismissed after the cleaning contract changed hands and neither contractor advised or consulted him. The adjudicator found no transfer of undertaking applied, but said the worker should receive redundancy and notice entitlements in accordance with his service.
