The Workplace Relations Commission found that a worker did not qualify for a redundancy payment because she lacked the required service with the café employer. The decision was dated 8 August 2016. The worker moved from a restaurant to a café in November 2014. The officer found that the restaurant and café were separate legal entities and that the worker had accepted and worked under a new café contract for more than 13 months. The complaint therefore failed.
