The Workplace Relations Commission found that a contract cleaner’s unfair dismissal claim against a cleaning contractor was not well founded and dismissed it in a decision dated 5 July 2016. The worker had been employed for about 15 years. The adjudication officer found the company had obtained and considered medical reports, discussed her duties with her and effectively allowed her to work reduced duties for much of 2014 and 2015 before dismissing her on capability grounds. SIPTU represented the worker at the hearing.
