The WRC dismissed a technical support worker’s unfair dismissal complaint against a communications company. Adjudication Officer Peter O’Brien dated the decision 15 June 2015. A duplicate complaint was withdrawn at the hearing. The employee said he was dismissed without fair procedures after customer-related conduct he believed followed company policy. The company said he mishandled calls, gave away company property and made inappropriate comments to customers. The officer found substantial grounds for dismissal, said the bond of trust had broken down and found no evidence that the disciplinary process was unfair. The unfair dismissal complaint failed; the second complaint had been withdrawn.
