The WRC dismissed a waitress’s claim for a redundancy payment after finding two offered jobs were reasonable alternatives. Adjudication Officer Pat Brady dated the decision 7 April 2016. The employee worked at a restaurant in Dundrum until its lease ended. The company offered her four roles in Dundrum, Suffolk Street, Swords and Liffey Valley. She declined them, citing travel time, job duties and a previous pay dispute. The WRC found the Swords and Liffey Valley roles were not reasonable alternatives, but that the Dundrum and Suffolk Street offers were. It dismissed the claim and found no redundancy payment was due.
