The WRC found that an IT engineer resigned and was not unfairly dismissed, rejecting his complaint in a decision dated 7 June 2018. He said difficulties followed his return from parental leave and claimed the agency provider dismissed him. The respondent said he resigned. The WRC found he had indicated he would leave at the end of a client placement and had not immediately challenged the respondent’s account of their conversation. His later emails and failure to attend work did not show he wanted to continue working there. The WRC also rejected his constructive dismissal claim, finding his concerns did not make it necessary for him to leave.
