The WRC dismissed a tourism and marketing employee’s complaint that she was discriminated against on gender and family status grounds. Adjudication Officer Louise Boyle dated the decision 3 November 2016. She said her duties changed after she returned from maternity leave and that she was treated unfairly in recruitment. The WRC found she had not established a case of discrimination, noting that she accepted she lacked the financial knowledge required for the manager role. Earlier incidents were outside the six-month time limit. The officer recommended equality training and a review of HR policies, including those on pregnant employees and recruitment.
