The WRC awarded a general operative €3,881 after finding that the respondent breached equal-pay rules for temporary agency workers. The worker said he received €8.65 an hour while directly employed colleagues doing similar work received €12.26. The respondent supplied salary data and attributed the breach to communication problems and misunderstandings at the main employer. The award followed agreement between the worker and respondent on the detailed calculations. The decision was dated 26 April 2016.
