The WRC rejected a service station employee’s claims of racial harassment, victimisation and discriminatory constructive dismissal against a nationwide chain of service stations. The decision was dated 7 April 2016. The employee said a co-worker made racist remarks and management failed to address his complaints. The WRC found the employer’s evidence more credible and found no evidence that the dispute between the co-workers was related to the employee’s race. It also found his complaints to management did not refer to race, his shifts did not change after he complained, and he resigned before the employer could investigate his latest grievance.
