The WRC awarded a worker €1,760, equal to four weeks’ pay, after accepting that her redundancy notice had been backdated. The decision was dated 29 June 2016. The worker said she was told on 15 November 2015 that the business was closing and her employment would end four days later. The WRC accepted her evidence that the redundancy form gave an earlier notice date and awarded four weeks’ minimum notice pay at €440 a week. It also found she qualified for statutory redundancy for her employment from 10 December 2007 to 19 November 2015, and said her claim should be processed and paid. Two contract information claims failed: one because a contract had been presented and the other was a replication. A further contract claim had no details. The worker’s discrimination claim was not well founded; the adjudicator found no evidence of discrimination and noted that she agreed her selection was likely related to her higher pay. The employer did not attend the hearing.
