Labour Court rejects Services Industrial Professional Technical Union pay appeal

In 1997, the Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's appeal over a worker's pay and grading at the Department Of Defence, leaving the Rights Commissioner's recommendation that the claim fail in place. The decision was dated 24 February 1997. The union argued that the worker's pay had fallen behind the former Storeman B2 rate between 1990 and 1993 and that he had not received enough service credit when a new grading structure was introduced. The Department said he had suffered no financial loss and had received full credit for his service.
