The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal and upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that she return to the proper rate for her current posting. The decision was signed on 28 March 1996. The Court suggested the parties agree that the change take effect from that date. The worker, represented by the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union, sought 6.5 hours of overtime assigned to another employee and additional work to make up her hours after Cadbury Ireland Limited changed its clerical shift system. Cadbury said the Saturday work was stock control unrelated to the new system and that making up the hours would be inefficient.
