The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that no compensation was payable to two boilermen at Leo Laboratories, rejecting an appeal by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The decision was signed on 13 March 1996. The union said a reorganisation reduced the workers’ engineering stores overtime and sought compensation for lost earnings. Leo Laboratories said its records showed their earnings had risen and that they continued to receive substantial overtime. The Court found the recommendation reasonable and left it in place.
