The Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s appeal and upheld the recommendation that three Beaumont Hospital theatre porters’ claim for compensation fail. The decision was signed on 18 December 1995. The union said the revised roster worsened the porters’ working conditions. Beaumont Hospital said they had previously worked late shifts on overtime and had lost no earnings. The Rights Commissioner had found the inconvenience was not substantial and recommended that the claim fail.
