In 1995, the Labour Court recommended that South Inner City Community Development Association (S.I.C.C.D.A.) give a worker a suitable reference after his appeal over his dismissal. In a decision dated 6 April 1995, the Court upheld one paragraph of the Rights Commissioner's recommendation and did not uphold a second paragraph it described as a statement of opinion. The worker told the Court he sought neither reinstatement nor compensation, only to clear his name. The Court said serious conflicts in the evidence remained unresolved and that a personality conflict with the new supervisor appeared to be at the root of the problem. The Association had said that incidents following the appointment of a new manager left it with no choice but to dismiss him.
