In 1994, the Labour Court increased a recommended settlement involving Shannon Development from £4,500 to £6,000 after an appeal by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. Its decision was signed on 5 November 1994.
The union appealed for a worker who said he had been promised an E1 grade if his former post was upgraded during his secondment. Shannon Development said the written terms preserved his existing grade, salary and benefits, without promising an E1 post. The Court increased the settlement to £6,000 in full settlement of the dispute and upheld the appeal to that extent.
