Labour Court leaves disciplinary warning recommendation in place after company appeal

In 1994, the Labour Court left in place a recommendation that two warnings against a worker be treated as lapsed, after an appeal by Ballet International 2000 Limited. The decision was dated 27 June 1994. The dispute followed a confrontation between the worker and her supervisor. Mandate, which represented the worker, said the warnings were unwarranted and the company handled the incidents unfairly. The company argued the warnings were justified by the worker's repeated refusal to follow instructions. The Rights Commissioner had also recommended a joint union/company meeting to discuss procedural changes.
