The Labour Court rejected an appeal over disciplinary action against a worker at Wood Industries (Ireland) Limited and recommended that the final written warning last one year. It signed its decision on 9 May 1994. The worker took three days’ leave after applying for floating days. On his return, he was suspended for three days and asked to sign a final written warning. The Court concluded that the company had not acted unreasonably and found no grounds to alter the Rights Commissioner’s findings. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union appealed on the worker’s behalf.
