In 1992, the Labour Court rejected an unnamed worker’s appeal over his place on Waterford Foods Ltd.’s seniority list, leaving the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation of 12th place unchanged. The decision was dated 3 November 1992. The worker, represented by the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union, argued that his Quality Control work began in 1973 and that he should rank fourth. Waterford Foods said his qualifying work began in August 1977 and that the seniority criteria supported his existing place. The Court found no grounds to amend the recommendation and rejected the appeal.
