In 1992, the Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that a worker’s pension claim against Krups Engineering Limited should fail. The decision was signed on 24 September 1992. The worker appealed, saying the personnel manager had told him his pension rights were protected before he voluntarily resigned in 1991. Krups Engineering said the scheme rules barred benefits for workers who left voluntarily. The Court concluded that the worker had misunderstood the trustees’ authority or the personnel manager’s remarks, and upheld the recommendation.
