In 1992, the Labour Court upheld the Rights Commissioner’s £400 recommendation to a worker after her unfair dismissal appeal against Clearmodes (Distributors) Limited. The decision was signed on 10 August 1992. The worker had been dismissed after 14 weeks in the job. She appealed, seeking adequate compensation, and Clearmodes did not attend the Labour Court hearing. The Rights Commissioner’s recommendation included one week’s pay in lieu of notice and settled claims relating to her employment and its termination. The Labour Court upheld the recommendation.
