In 1992, the Labour Court left unchanged the £2,500 compensation Bus Atha Cliath had paid a worker for lost overtime, rejecting the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association’s appeal for a further £2,200. The Court dated its decision 29 June 1992.
The association argued that other cash portering staff in similar circumstances had received the maximum payment under a productivity agreement and that the worker should receive the same treatment. Bus Atha Cliath said the agreement did not apply, the overtime was not rostered and the earlier recommendation had settled the matter. The Labour Court considered submissions on an issue addressed in two Rights Commissioner recommendations and decided no adjustment to the compensation already paid was warranted.
