Labour Court upholds rejection of security worker’s compensation claim

The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation rejecting a security worker’s claim for compensation for increased duties and lost earnings. The decision was signed on 18 October 1990. The North Western Health Board said the worker chose to remain in security, worked 40 hours a week and had a reasonable workload. The worker argued that remaining security staff faced more onerous duties after colleagues moved to other work, and that he lost Sunday-duty earnings. The Court found no grounds to alter the recommendation.
