The Labour Court decided that a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation should stand, giving an unnamed worker made redundant by Fullflex Limited 25% of a £150 lead-in voucher. The decision was signed on 5 December 1988. The Irish Transport And General Workers Union appealed on the worker’s behalf, arguing he should receive the full voucher because he had worked for Fullflex during part of the wage negotiations. The company said the voucher was intended for employees still working when the agreement was accepted, but supported the pro-rata recommendation. The Court found the recommendation appropriate to the circumstances.
