The Labour Court recommended that a worker act as relief for a senior person in Greenes (Letterkenny) Limited’s shopping centre until a new shop opened, changing two paragraphs of an earlier recommendation. The decision was signed on 16 July 1987 after an appeal by Greenes (Letterkenny) Limited. The Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union was also a party. The earlier recommendation had proposed a five-day week assisting assessors and planning for the reopening of the Main Street shop, with a review after three months. The Court said industrial action should cease if its decision was accepted.
