The Labour Court affirmed a recommendation that The Mental Health Commission regularise a worker’s position at Higher Executive Officer grade. The decision was signed on 17 November 2015. The worker’s union, the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union, said she had carried out HEO duties and her appointment letter did not make the role conditional on official sanction. The Commission said the post required sanction, which it had been unable to secure. The Court cited the unique circumstances, including her appointment as Acting Administration Officer in March 2009.
