The Labour Court disallowed a worker’s appeal and affirmed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation against incremental credit for earlier ambulance service experience. The decision was signed on 13 November 2015. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, argued that his earlier duties were comparable to Emergency Medical Technician work and should count towards his pay scale. HSE West said the roles were not comparable and that he had been placed correctly. The Court found no basis to disagree with the Rights Commissioner.
