Labour Court recommends independent facilitator in Kerry Parents and Friends Association dispute

The Labour Court varied a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in a joint appeal by Kerry Parents and Friends Association and a worker, proposing a Court-nominated independent facilitator to help restore their working relationship. The determination was signed on 28 November 2014. The worker sought a workable bullying and harassment policy, removal of information she considered unfounded and an external review. The employer said she had delayed raising her concerns and declined mediation. The Court said the organisation’s procedures had been exhausted and saw no value in another investigation. It recommended that both sides agree to an independent facilitator to help them settle acceptable terms for restoring a normal working relationship.
