The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal against Shannon Airport Authority (Formerly Da A PLC) over pay-scale assimilation at Shannon Airport. The decision was dated 20 November 2013. The worker said his transfers to the Airport Police Fire Service left him on a lower pay point and reduced his sick-pay entitlements compared with colleagues. The Court found the dispute concerned pay rates for a body of workers acting together, so it could not hear the case. It upheld the Rights Commissioner’s finding and rejected the appeal; the merits of the pay claim were not decided.
