The Labour Court allowed HSE West’s appeal and set aside the part of a Rights Commissioner recommendation requiring an agreed job evaluation of a worker’s Grade V post. The decision was dated 18 April 2013. The worker argued that his duties were appropriate to Grade VI and accepted the recommendation for an evaluation. Management said the agreed scheme had been suspended and similar claims could not be handled individually. The Court said the dispute had implications for many HSE employees and should be addressed collectively while the Public Service Agreement 2010–2014 was being worked through. It did not decide the merits of the worker’s grading claim.
