The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that a worker at Dublin Bus was not entitled to compensation for a shift-pattern change. The decision was signed on 13 March 2013. The worker, represented by the National Bus and Rail Union, argued that the change had caused inequitable treatment and that compensation was due. Dublin Bus said she had not been affected by a change to her shift pattern. The Court found that compensation was intended for drivers who lost the certainty of marked-in work patterns. It concluded that the worker had suffered no loss and found her claim not well founded.
