The Labour Court disallowed a worker’s appeal and upheld the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that her complaint about An Post’s career-break policy fail. The decision was signed on 25 September 2012. The worker, a Business Support Officer represented by CPSU, said suitable temporary vacancies were available while she waited for a suitable position after her career break. An Post said she had declined a September 2010 offer because she was available only for a mornings-only job-sharing arrangement. The Court found that An Post had applied its career-break policy correctly.
