The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that Fogarty Drilling Ltd pay a worker €5,000 in full and final settlement of an enhanced redundancy claim. The decision was dated 21 June 2012. Fogarty Drilling Ltd said it had met its statutory redundancy obligations and could not sustain the additional cost of enhanced terms. The worker, represented by Noreside Resource Centre, sought four weeks’ pay per year of service, citing comparable employment in the sector. The Court upheld the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in full.
