The Labour Court deferred a worker’s claim for appointment as a CNM1 and incremental credit until 1 June 2012, pending national negotiations on long-term acting posts. The decision was signed on 16 April 2012. The worker, represented by INMO, had appealed a recommendation to appoint her as CNM1 and place her on the fifth point of the pay scale from 31 December 2009. The Court said the worker had been in an acting role for an inordinate length of time and that the union’s claim had merit. If a national agreement was reached, its terms should apply to her; otherwise, the matter was to return to the Court for a definitive recommendation.
