Labour Court upholds recommendation in Iss Facility Services overtime dispute

The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation rejecting a worker’s claim over lost overtime after a change to the security staff roster. The decision was signed on 10 August 2011. The worker, a full-time security officer at the Covidien Tullamore site, said the change cut his weekly overtime income and that a further reduction in hours was proposed. Iss Facility Services said the roster was an agreed cost-saving arrangement and other employees were also affected. The Court upheld the recommendation after considering both sides.
