The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that St Munchin’s Action Centre, later called St Munchin’s Community Development, pay a worker an additional week’s pay per year of service after her redundancy. The decision was signed on 19 July 2011. The worker had already received enhanced terms of two weeks’ pay per year of service in 2009. The employer appealed the recommendation, saying it supported the worker’s claim but could not apply the payments because the funding came from FÁS. It did not attend to move its appeal, which failed for lack of prosecution; the merits of the appeal were not decided. The Court upheld the recommendation for the additional week’s pay per year of service.
