The Labour Court upheld a worker’s appeal against a Rights Commissioner recommendation, directing Federal Security Services Limited to increase his pay by 7% and pay €6,500 in retrospection. The decision was signed on 15 July 2011. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, said a service increment due after three years had not been paid. Federal Security Services argued that he had signed new terms with Noonan and was already earning more than under his earlier contract. The Court found he was entitled to the increase from his third employment anniversary in August 2006.
