The Labour Court disallowed a worker’s appeal and affirmed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that his complaint was not upheld. The decision was signed on 23 May 2010. The worker said he had been assigned lifting and bending duties despite being certified for light duties, and that he resigned on medical advice. Cathal Shevlin Engineering Ltd said it assigned him its least demanding workshop job and that he had not complained. The Court found he voluntarily left his employment and had not raised difficulties with his duties.
